I've been in the process of perhaps moving my blog over to Typepad this week. This has been a very slow attempt and I've realized that I should have just stayed put. I had self-inflected configuration problems. I thought moving over to Typepad would be easier than fixing the problems. At this point I think working on my blog will be easier because I have a big blog and there is just too much to reformat and move. So to end this....I am going to stay right here. Edited to included: Can anyone reccommend a good blog designer? I might change my mind.

Look at these Little Sheeps! Are they not the cutest?

I could not resist them. Sheri from The Loopy Ewe purchased the white sheep and put a picture up on her blog. Well, of course I had to check it out and ended out on Laurie Sharp's Shop Woolpets or check out her Etsy Shop. I first purchased the white sheepy and then a couple of days later purchased the gray sheepy to keep her company. I haven't named them yet. But rest assured I will. Laurie is a true artist in this animal felting. She does an excellent job. Oh I forgot she also sells kits in her shop that you can felt you own animal or critter. I think they are adorable.

I am so smart! Yah..like it only took me four days! But I have finally accomplished my mission..... that I choose to accept. I can now print from my laptop in another room from my printer. Yea Rah! I don't have to get up and unplug from the wall (battery) and then walk into the den and turn on the printer and print. Oh my, at times it was right in the middle of a very important episode of a TV show. You know how that goes? I am kinda of proud of myself given that I am computer illiterate. Everything I have learned blog-wise and else has been on my own. It's all been trial and error. That's the reason I have wasted the past four days. I would hate to tally up all my wasted time to get where I am but hey, is it really wasted? That is the question. Anyway, I did have some spare time to peek in on my friend's Tiennie's blog. If you've never been there, go. You are really in for a treat. Her knitting is gorgeous and she deserves a gold metal for not only joining the most KAL's but "completing" them ON TIME. Oh, I forgot what I was talking about, Oh yah, Tiennie joined this: Now this is a group I definitely can join and complete. No problem! She just also had to mention this on: Well, since I just purchased this book, what can I say, Tiennie made me do it. Bad girl, bad girl, What ya gonna do? What ya gonna do when they come for you? Now, getting back to blogging. I have a question. Please do not be shy...I not only need an answer but I do like comments and this would help me get back to your comment because I don't know how to do it now. OMG I hate computers!

I have now wasted ....do you hear me? Wasted! Two days, and I still don't have it working! You probably want to know what I am talking about don't you? Well, I decided I wanted to make my printer that is not wireless - wireless. It does not have an internal card and the guy at BestBuy said all I need is the router for a printer. So upon trying to install this I thought wow, this is going to be easy. Oh sure it was easy until I realized it removed the entire hardware of my printer off my computer. What? Where did it go? I don't know! Did you take it? So to my manual I go and it says I need to download this other hardware if I want to go wireless because mine doesn't like it. So I download (which takes forever) and then it gets to the step where it needs to locate my printer. Well, I guess my printer has now run away because my computer cannot find it. Now, I see it..it is sitting right there but the computer decides he no longer wants to talk to her. So I try over/ try other ways / try any way. I will not give up, but I am not achieving anything. I just had to say enough is enough. I guess tomorrow is another day. I'll try again. When do y'all say uncle?

.......that's just what they are doing now! Oh man have I been sick! I've had pheumonia. High fevers and coughing up my toes arg! I went back to the doctor yesterday and went to hospital for yet another follow-up chest x-ray. My lungs are still showing shadows. I could have told them this as I'm still coughing at times. Not a lot of knitting or anything has been done for a while. However I do have to say I'm feeling so much better each and every day. Hey, one good thing happened right at the onset of all this. I got a pink iPod nano MP3. Yah! I've been listening to a few knitting podcasts and LOVE them. Wow, didn't know what I had been missing out on for so long. The audiobooks look interesting so I can knit and read at the same time. Aren't these gadgets fun? Certainly makes our life interesting. I haven't gotten a case for my Nano yet. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or opinions on a case for my pink Nano. I'm looking for a case that would not cover the color up because I really like looking at the pink. Oh No! cough...cough...cough. Here we go! :~( I'll talk to you tommorrow. Pleasant knitting. :~)

Look what I woke up to this Valentine's Day morning! Mr. Stitches in Pink left me a beautiful card and a heart of yummy chocolates. This is so sweet of him. Wow! When Jake and I opened the front door....surprise! Boy did we get the snow. It snowed all day yesterday and then into the evening with sleet between the snowfall. It's been nothing like the 100" in New York, but it sure has been a pain in the behind. Getting back to Valentines Day, I feel bad because I'm a procrastinator and of course I was going to go out yesterday and get my DH his card and present. Well, of course they said "please do not go out unless you really need to (meaning emergencies)". It's funny because it is usually the other way around with us so he understands. I'll make it up to him. As I promised, here's a picture of my J. Knits socks I'm knitting. You can see for yourself how nice they are turning out. I'm working the Widdershins Cabled Sock Pattern. They are so pretty I thought I would start decorating with them. What do you think??

I wanted to share these pictures of Jake. He had a very relaxing day. When he's gets in this position he shows off and wants me to talk to him. If I ignore him, he gets very chatty until I tell him he is a very pretty boy and keep going on about him. Such a ham!

I am getting so tired of this cold weather. I want to go some place warm! I hope you have had a great heart day. I send this little fairy to grant all your wishes.

Socks Grow In Trees....Oh My!

These are the socks I knitted with Yartini self-stripping yarn in the colorway of Home Stripe. I purchased the yarn from my most favorite person and store owner, Sheri. She owns the The Loopy Ewe I really like this yarn a lot. The pattern is just a generic rib pattern. Oh, I should have mentioned this first. We are getting a refund back from the good ole IRS. It's not much, but hey, as long as we dont' have to pay...I'm jumping for joy. Little Jake taking a taste of my new sock yarn which is J. Knits in her Superwash Me - Sock yarn. The colorway is Boston. This is a really nice blue. I figured I will be able to complete the following KAL's: Project Spectrum (in the color blue) and Sock A Month KAL3. When I first wound the yarn into a ball I thought it was going to be a nice blue, but not have a lot of contract to it. I got a wonderful surprise as I cast on. This yarn has a beautiful classy strip. It has a wonderful softness and knits up as an excellent sock yarn. I love it!

Oh No! It's tax day in our house!

A promise is a promise...... and darn it I made a promise to Mr Stitches in Pink that I would do the taxes today. I had really told him that I would prepare them on Monday, then Tuesday and then well...the promise, today. So I won't be knitting until I get all taxes completed. I really hate to do them. They are one of those yearly things every one of us have to do, but I HATE them. Plus will we have to pay? I won't know until I get to the bottom line. If we do have to pay, I always feel like it's money that I'm just throwing out a car window. Gosh, I am sure getting myself worked up. I must calm down because I have that big job ahead of me. :-) I'm sorry I was getting on my soap box. Well, off to the figures I go. I'll see ya later.

How can it be so cold and still snow?

How can it be so cold and still snow? I'm sitting here looking out a window and the snow is really coming down. I didn't think it could do that when it was like below 32 degrees. I am so tired of it being so cold. The news said the other night it had not been this cold since 1996. Oh, gosh thinking of years, on February 6, 1981. That's 26 years ago today, Mr Stitches in Pink and I got married. I can't believe that it has been that many years. We have had such a super marriage. I truly could not imagine my life without him beside me. Since I'm back to play, I noticed this button:on my friend's Tiennie's blog. While I was gone I had purchased the yarn for Arwen's cardigan in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino Aran in color 300603 which is actually a pretty pink. I had not joined the KAL nor had I started the cardigan. Well, I can't let Tiennie get ahead of me so what did I do? I joined the KAL and I have cast on. Pssst.....you'll never guess but I also have the pattern and yarn for the Rouge. Great minds think alike! I'm back to play!

I know you probably thought I died. I'm sorry I didn't post because it seemed as if life turned itself upside down for a while. You might know those times yourself. If I was the type of Blogger that shared "all of me" I would tell you...hmmm...but really would rather keep my blog light and not get into it. All has not been bad though, I got my hair cut and highlighted. My cut is great but she didn't give me as much blonde as she normally does. I sware she has done my hair for 6 years and it's like "the first time" every time. However, all-in-all good job. I have been doing some sock knitting. The following picture is of the sock for the I love this yarn! It's the Hannah colorwave by Yarn Pirate Yarns You need to check this yarn out! What do you think? AND... This next sock was actually started for Socktoberfest. It is the Jaywalkers done in Paris. You can read about this yarn below. I hope to get these done by the end of the month. I need to get my butt in gear. God, I am such a slow knitter! Time being one problem, the second being just me, a slow knitter. You know that using time wisely thing again. Then we come to this little guy, who was looking over when I was taking my pictures. He thinks my sock yarn and needles are just delious. He's just my cute lil man-kitty..Jake. Take one down and pass it around.....another KAL button on my wall! One of my favorite daily read blogs is by Tiennie. To my luck she posted that she had just joined My First Toe-ups KAL. Wow, I said to myself, I have never knit a pair of socks toe-up. I NEED THIS! What a great time during Socktoberfest. I was immediately on my knees begging to be accepted to this KAL. A quick reply back from Ozknitter and I was in the group. Now I'm off to look for a pattern and dig in my stash for sock yarn. Oh, you ask about my Paris socks? They are coming right along. Well, they're not socks yet, but they're on their way! I think I LOVE this yarn. It's Fleece Artist in the color of Paris. I explained all the details of the yarn under Socktoberfest below. I guess I got a little a head of myself. Sometimes I do that and meet myself in the middle if I'm lucky. One thing I know for sure is that I'm such a slooow knitter. If I would just spend more time on my knitting also instead of getting side tracked to the computer. I was one of those kids that always got a check mark beside of "Using spare time wisely on my report card. I'm just the type of person that works better under a schedule. I will keep you guys updated with pictures. Back to my my beautiful Paris. Hugs

My new dpn's just arrived in the mail today to start off Socktoberfest. I ordered them from Jimmy Beans Wool. I need to take the time to thank Jimmy Beans Wool for their super fast and and great customer service. I ordered on Thursday and they came today. You sure can't beat that. Everytime I order from them it has been the same "consistant" super delivery. Aren't they the neatest? They are made by Blue Sky Alpacas and are 5" long, in lal khola wood and made in India. Oh, and did I say they come in the coolest little tins. I ordered the #0, 1 and 2. I'll let you know how I like them real soon. If anyone else has used them let me know how you liked them. Well, sock knitters it start's tomorrow. Get your needles ready.

Cute! Yea Cute! Look at that button, just one of many you can choose from for the Socktoberfest2006. It starts on OCTOBER 1, 2006. That my friends is just ONE (1) MORE DAY. Which on my calender is SUNDAY. This is my first year since I'm very new at sock knitting. My yarn of choice is Fleece Artist in the color of "Paris" and I'm knitting it in the Magknits Jaywalker sock pattern. It's amazing, when my yarn arrived this past week I thought perhaps I didn't like the colorwave. The colors didn't look as well as they looked on my computer monitor. However I wasn't disappointed for long because as the ball began to wind I fell in love with it. Paris is just the perfect colorwave for fall. Ooooh I'm just so excited I just can't hide it....suddenly I feel a song coming on. Well, sock knitters all you have to do is click on the button upbove or the one on my right sidebar to join. Thank you Lolly. You have done a wonderful job. Come on it's fall what else do you have to do?

The sock pattern is named Lacy Trellis designed by Gail Dennis. You have to join our group to be able to get the pattern. Tempt you? I wouldn't do that? not me? But you might check it out. It's a great day to start a sock!

No! This PaRtIaL SOCK is not a figment of your imagination. Atleast until I take it to the frog pond. I just wanted to post a picture to show that indeed I did knit a SOCK, or atleast a partial sock. I ran into trouble of the calf part of it. It is much tooo big and tooo tall for me. And, then there's the part that I knitted the heel thingy on the wrong side. I learned alot just from what I knitted on it. Mean while, I've started on a Fishnet Cable Sock pattern using Opal Petticoat#1292. I'm not taking a picture of this one for a couple of days because I'm waiting for some Cherry Hill Supersock yarn in Monet that I ordered to arrive for a KAL. I tryed to take a picture without Jake, but noooo he wouldn't have it! I even moved this sock around to several places trying to take a picture. He just smells the camera and comes out of where ever he is to pose. Oh he's my crazy-cat!

My Second Petals Collection Have Cometh!

Sundara tried to capture the hydrangeas as they turn at the first signs of autumn still lovely as ever as they age from periwinkle to dark purple. My picture just does not do the colors justice. Oh yes, she is my first! I thought she turned out quite well. I like knitting these dishcloths. My gauge was off a twinge, but I think it was due to knitting with the P&C all cotton yarn. Jake, my cat likes it as well as you can see by his picture. The face/dishcloths are really fun and easy projects that you can pull out between the other long winded projects when you want to feel some completion satisfaction. I have been either down with a migrain since Thursday or buzy as a bee running errands, doing things with my husband this weekend and taking on the world of knitting socks. Socks? You say socks? I've mentioned them a time or two before on my blog and haven't shown a picture once. You'all all be shocked to know the reason I haven't shown any is because I haven't knitted any! I have been prepared to take the first step for several months. I have the needles, dpns and circulars, sock books and yarn, by do I have sock yarn! Same on myself! Do I have sock yarn! Anyway I have started knitting on my first pair of socks as you can see below. I well keep you posted by pictures as I progress. Now, I do want you to know I am a slow knitter so bear with me. A Beautiful Sunday!

It is just a beautiful Sunday here in Indy! I have been busy knitting a little on this project and a little on that project. Which projects you want to know? Well, first I'm knitting the Moss Grid Hand Towel from the Mason*Dixon Knitting Book. I belong to the Mason*Dixon KAL. I will take a picture tomorrow. It is a real fun projet. I'm knitting it in Euroflax Originals sport weight by Louet. I'm also still knitting the Mystery Stole 2006, however I've probably knit this sucker atleast 5 times. What is it with me and lace knitting? I know how to knit...I know how to follow a chart...hmmm I just don't get it. I got to line 49 and then back to the frog pond I went. Back and forth, I'm turning green on this one, but I won't put it away. I won't let you get me my pretty one! Maybe someday I will have something to show you on this stole. I'm also knitting Tempting II top. I have about 5" on it. I will also show pictures on this as well. Well, I'm not going to waste this nice afternoon, I'm off for a little walk with my DH.

I SAID GIVE ME A TREAT! Jake loves to get into his tunnel and he will not come out. He will take his nap in there and hids in there when he wants to attack you when you walk by. He thinks no one sees him in there. Silly little guy! I have been really busy with life lately and it hasn't given much time left over to blog or to knit. However, I did join the Mystery Stole 2006 KALthat's on mysterystole_2006. I got to row 86 and realized I'd dropped a stitch so I was going back over trying to find out where it was and back unknitting to correct when Jake (that sweet little thing up there that just loves to attack yarn) jumped up on my lap and the knitting. I was just in the process of transferring a stitch and...will that became a dropped stitch all the way down because I pulled the work apart. Needless to say, I was a wee bit angry with him. I had to frog back to the beginning as I would have been trying to fix it for the next week. So now I have to start all over again. I'm also knitting the Beading Garden Party Scarf KAL that's on knittingzone.com This is a very pretty scarf. I'm knitting mine using the deep turquoise bead set. I'll be posting pictures. I really wanted to take a walk but it is just sooo hot. It just makes you feel miserable, like today when we have such high humidity. One thing I do have to do is get things ready for dinner. We are going to have nice big salads with chicken breast cut up in them. I put everything but the kitchen sink in my salads. We just enjoy them so much when it is so hot. Off to the kitchen I go!

WOW! Is this color not gorgeous???? Yes I do believe it is! The yarn comes from Sundara Yarn her Petals Collection Sock Club. This is her first installment of the Petal Collection and it is called the Pink Calla Lilly. The sock is called the same and there is a great picture of it as well, however I took a picture of the above before I opened the envelope which contains the picture. I will take a picture and show you tomorrow. Sundara definity did a first class job on this sock club. I need to get my hands on her other yarns now.

Can you spin straw into gold? The miner said his daughter could!

Lately I've been thinking of the fun of owning your own spinning wheel when yesterday out of the clear blue sky the name Rumpelstilzchen the Brothers Grimm fairy tale about SPINNING STRAW INTO GOLD just popped into my head. The story is about a miner who lied to the king that his daughter could spin straw into gold. The king then shut the girl up in a tower room and demanded that she do just that by morning or her father would be executed. An elf appeared and said he would spin the straw into gold if she would give him her first child. She agreed. The greedy king married her and when she had her first born the elf returned to to claim the child. He demanded the child and she offered all her wealth instead. He thought to himself that she would never be able to guess his name so this would be a way not only to get the child but her wealth as well. He gave her three days to guess his name. At first she failed, but before the second night, her messenger heard the elf hopping about his fire and singing: "Tomorrow I brew, today I bake, and then the child away I take; For little deems my royal dame That Rumpelstiltskin is my name!" When the elf went to the queen on the third day she revealed his name, he lost his bargain. He flew out of the window on a cooking ladle. and was never seen again. Analysis: I guess Rumpelstiltskin is most commonly interpreted as a cautionary tale against bragging. However, in this case it was not the girl it was the father and the daughter is punished for his lies. Another I read is that the tale was to teach women the importance of performing a supporting role in their marriage. The gift of spinning straw into gold is seen as a metaphor for the value of household skills. The tale did bring out the king was not interested in the girls beauty just her ability to spin gold or bring him riches and bear him children. Interesting ........ this all started as just a thought of a spinning wheel and ended up with quite a life's lesson of what women had to endure many years ago and some are still enduring......... interesting!

As you can see even Jake had to sneak a touch to feel the soft Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb yarn. I of course, downloaded the FREE Clapotis pattern from http://knitty.com. Thank you. This is such an easy pattern to knit. It's a nice project to take with you - kinda a no brainer - if you make sure you place those markers you can memorize the pattern. And....I feel I can pick it up and stop and start quite easily. Also, don't pass up a project that recommends Lion and Lamb. I feel very glamorous to be knitting with it. Soooo nice!

Thanks Martha! Are these not beautiful? I received my custom order from Green Mountain Knitting Bags. The darker one is the Oversized Carpet Bag and the other is the Mini Carpet Bag. I have two others and cannot get enough of them. I also have have one of her Annie's Sock Bag on order as well. OOOOhhhhh!!!! I think I'm going crazy. I am just not the smartest hen in the coop when it comes to this HTML stuff. I go out and read the tutorials - you have to weed through the trash, advertisements and I guess some good ones, however I still don't know what I want to do. Then, I've had to deal with Blogspot. I never know when I replenish my blog if it is going to take or not. It is all sooo frustrating. But I won't let it stop me. I just need to take a break from trying to do all the pretty stuff for a while. I need to get back to my knitting and just daily blogging. Tomorrow I will just post to my blog and knit. Right now I'm going to Knitter's Review and read the forum and some of my favorite blogs. I'll let you know what I'm knitting in the morning.

Some Cats Are Just Lazy! Me? I'm Knitting My 1st Sock!

Jake is having one of his lazy days. He loves laying on his perch by the open window, listening to the birds and what's going on in the outside world. Isn't he the cutest?? What am I going to do today? I'm going to jump into the world of sock knitting. Yay. I've purchased a stash of beautiful sock yarn and books. Now to narrow my selection down to an easy pattern that matches up to one of my yarns. I will take a picture of this and post it tomorrow. Well, I'm off to decide. Wish me luck. Patty

2nd Annual Hoosier Hills Fiberarts Festival

Saturday, June 3rd at the Johnson County Fairgounds located at Franklin, Indiana I attended the 2nd Annual Hoosier Hills Fiberarts Festval. This was the first year I attended the festival and was impressed. There were about 50 vendors. Many vendors had fleeces, roving, spinning wheels and supplies. I tell you it really gave me the desire to know about spinning wheels. I bought a kit with the book "Spin It", some roving and a spindle to hand spinning by myself. I haven't started yet - will let you know how it goes. They even had sheep and bunnies for sale. That angora bunny above was one. I tell you, he was sooo gentle and soft! I really wanted to take him home with me. Another lady had an English bunny on a leash that she was selling. It was the same with him. They are such gentle animals. I bought some Claudia Handpainted Sock Yarn in Pinkcloud and some Fleece Artist yarn for socks. I should have bought some needles but I didn't. You know how that goes? You kick yourself after you get home. I had such a great and educational time. I'm already looking forward to next year. Patty

Doesn't my Jake look sweet on his unfelted Kitty pi bed? I finished knitting it and he couldn't wait to get on it. It wasn't even felted. Oh, and that sweet look is only just there when he's not going 500 miles an hour around the house. He really is a sweetheart and makes my our every day one to look forward to. I haven't been writing on my blog lately. I need to just get on a schedule of sorts to get everything done. It seems as if I get nothing done. I read my favorite blogs and Knitter's Review. I knit and get my housework juggled in there somewhere with a little TV here and there. I run my errands and lunch with the girls and I can't forget my Red Hat luncheons. Like I said a lot of everything that results in a lot of nothing. Wow! I also have to get more comfortable at blogging. It's kinda of putting your life right out there in front of everyone. What do I mean kinda? It is! I know as I do it more - the more it will just come off my fingers. I know I am really into it more now that I have a camera. I feel I can participate more and show everyone my projects. Well, I'm off to learn more about my camera. It's really neat. Patty

I'm Knitting on My Elegantly Simple Triangle Shawl KAL

Today I'm knitting, or atleast trying (casting on and frogging) my KAL project, the Elegantly Simple Triangle Shawl. This is my first lace and chart pattern project. It isn't that hard, it is just getting the chart down and all those YO's and slanted-right 3 stitch decreases, etc. Really, the frogging helps because doing it over does get the pattern down in your head. This is also my first KAL and it is truly wonderful to have the help and support of the great ladies who belong to the group. Well I need to get back to my knitting. It's a great day for a KAL. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL I GET MY DIGITAL CAMERA! It's a beautiful Tuesday and I'm knitting my cat Jake, a Kitty Pi Bed (pattern by Wendy). It's a pattern based on Elizabeth Zimmerman's EZasPi Round Shawl. I'm using Noro's Big Kureyon and will be felting the yarn when finished. Oh ya, it has some eyelash yarn knitted at the end of it.
